Housecall Pro for Mobile Oil Change: Strong Front Office, No Garage
Housecall Pro is the closest runner-up for an oil change van, because its $79 Basic plan already books customers inside the ZIP codes you serve, gives them a number to text and asks for a review when the job is done. What it does not describe is the vehicle: equipment is tracked per property, there is no built-in inventory, sequencing the day starts on the $189 Essentials plan, and offline is view only.
64.0 / 100, number 2 of 6. Mobile Service Sync, in first place, scores 100.0. Best for: HVAC, plumbing and electrical companies whose equipment stays at the customer's property.
Housecall Pro on an Oil Change Route
The customer side is good. On Basic, online booking offers only the ZIP codes inside your service areas, the texting number on every plan drops replies into an inbox, and a review request goes out by itself when a job is finished. The app runs on iPhone and Android on every plan.
The van side is thinner. Housecall Pro records equipment against a property and names no customer vehicle record, so an oil weight and capacity have no car to live on. For stock, its help center points to QuickBooks instead of counting anything itself.
Grouping and sequencing the day's jobs arrive on Essentials at $189 a month, and reordering them by drive time is a MAX feature at $329. Without signal the app shows today and the next two days, view only, up to 10 jobs a day.
Fleet billing is still on its way in: by Housecall Pro's own help center, customer payment terms are in early alpha testing and the PO number field is rolling out gradually.

What an Oil Change Van Gets Instead
Mobile Service Sync gives a van the same front office (service-area booking, two-way texting, a review request after every job) and adds what Housecall Pro leaves out: a vehicle record from the plate or VIN, one-click stop order on the $49 plan, stock per van, an app that closes jobs with no signal, and fleet terms that are working today.
Mobile Service Sync keeps its own side-by-side page against this product: Mobile Service Sync compared with Housecall Pro.
